Being a coast province in the Central North of Vietnam, Quang Binh is the redezvous of natural, social, and economic conditions of the North and the South. The northern of Quang Binh province is contiguous to Ha Tinh province, the Southern is contiguous to Quang Tri province, the Eastern is contiguous to the Eastern Sea, and the Western is contiguous to Laos. Quang Binh has a convenient geographic position. It is situated in many important road so Quang Binh province has many favourable conditions for developing economic - society, and co-operates with all other provinces in Vietnam and others countries in the ASEAN area.
Terrain and weather
The topography of Quang Binh is narrow and inclined from the West to the East and petitioned by many rives, streams and multi ground areas. The mountainous regions, hillocks cover about 85% of the natural area; the plain covers 11%, the rest of area is the sand and dune region.
The weather of Quang Binh is in the transitory area of the North and the South, the rainy season (from September to the next March) particularly having the Eastern North monsoon, the annual average rainfall from 2.000 mm to 2300mm. The dry season (from April to August) is influenced by the Western South creating hot and dry sunlight, but Quang Binh lies next the coast so it is cool in the night cause of the condition of the Eastern sea, the average temperature of 240C – 250C; the hottest season is June and July and the average temperature over 380C – 390C
